The name is a tongue-in-cheek nod to brain muscle atrophy caused by underuse and over-reliance on AI. We're here to counter that by helping students strengthen their cognitive muscles through learning, building, and collaborating.
Brain Eating Machines empowers young minds through robotics and STEM education. We believe in hands-on learning that sparks creativity, builds problem-solving skills, and prepares students for a future where technology and innovation are essential.
We're a team of engineers and educators rooted in the Glen Rock, NJ community, with over 30 years of combined experience in software engineering and technical program management. That industry background shapes everything we do, from the problems we design to the way we coach students through building and debugging their own robots.
Our coaching journey started with Odyssey of the Mind, which we introduced to Glen Rock Schools and ran from 2019 to 2024. Along the way, we organized STEM nights at Coleman Elementary and ran workshops and summer camps throughout the area. Our 2024 team placed 2nd regionally and 3rd at the state level.
We've since expanded into FIRST LEGO League, guiding students through the full competitive season and earning spots at the New Jersey State Championship.
